6 ways to create flow in your home

I get asked by my clients all the time, if you can have different themes in each room. It's always nice to create a flow in your home, so that one area or space flows seamlessly into the next. That doesn't mean that you can't have a different style, so long as there is something of a 'Red Thread'.

I don't mean literally, but in the design world this this is about creating a flow in your home. Mixing colours and styles IS possible so long as you have one theme or element running throughout.

Take this Art Deco lounge as an example;

1.Material - Walnut and black honed Granite

2.Colour - monochrome

3.Styling - Art Deco inspired pieces with palm tree's and elegant mirrors

4.Finish - mixture of brushed steel and copper accents

5.Feel - luxury, expensive and elegant

6.Flooring - grey and plush

To continue onto the rest of the home, you could pick any of those elements as your 'red thread'.

I always like to make sure when designing rooms for my clients that it isn't just a 'standalone' room, you see you can't just think about one room in a home, there has to be an overall feeling to have a lasting effect and for your home to really work for you.

If you'd like some help creating flow in your home, I'd love to help you discover your 'red thread' and make your home really work for you, so please do get in touch.

Hope you have a great weekend,

Nicola
